HDL were awarded this contract in August 2011. The works involved the excavation of a 5m deep basement and 12m deep pumping chamber, the total volume of excavated material exceeded 10,000m3. Due to the previous land use of the site, all excavated material was analysed and determined to be contaminated/hazardous. HDL segregated all contaminated/hazardous materials & disposed of to licensed facilities. As part of the scope of the works, HDL were responsible for the management of surface and ground water which included pumping to settlement tanks, testing, monitoring and disposal as per restrictions imposed by Dublin City Council.
