Hegarty Demolition were appointed as PSCS for the initial site set up, preparation and mobilisation on site. Site Clearance involved the removal of old out buildings, general site cleaning of a 1.5 acre site along the main Edmonstown Road, the site was bounded by the Owendoher River on the adjacent busy commuter Edmonstown Road with neighbouring properties on both other elevations.
Further to Site Clearance, the scope of works sought for a Rreduced level 1000m3 excavation down to eixisitng river bed level. Drainage instalation consisting of Surface Water, foul 900mm diameter concrete pipes leading out onto the newly constructed Head & Gabion Walls. Full Utilities installation were carried out in conjunction with DLRCC on edmonstown road, new road surface and footpaths constructed along the traversing 250metres of carrigeway.
Traffic Management was carried out and controlled by HDL Competent and trained operatives during a high volume AADT with both Residential, hospital & School access to be maintained at all times throughout the project All drainage connections were made in conjunction with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.
During the Bulk excavation, rock was encountered where it was removed by both heavy breaking and splitting techniques at sensitive Construction of Reinforced Concrete Retaining wall on three elevations and internal stait core and slab to hand over to Specialist Timber Frame Company to erect the two blocks of five storey apartments.
